英语作文:我的理想工作Ideal job
Different people have various ambitions. Some want to be engineers or doctors in the future. Some want to be scientists or businessmen. Still some wish to be teachers or lawers when they grow up in the days to come. Unlike other people, I prefer to be a farmer. However, it is not easy to be a farmer for Iwill be looked upon by others. Anyway, what I am trying to do is to make great contributions to agriculture. It is well known that farming is the basic of the country. Above all, farming is not only a challenge but also a good opportunity for the young. We can also make a big profit by growing vegetables and food in a scientific way. Besides we can apply what we have learned in school to farming. Thus our countryside will become more and more properous. I believe that any man with knowledge can do whatever they can so long as this job can meet his or her interest. All the working position can provide him with a good chance to become a talent.

Is Stress a Bad Thing?Directions: For this part you are allowed thirty minutes to write a composition on the topic Is Stress a Bad Thing? You should write no less than 150 words and base your composition on the outline (given in Chinese) below: && 1.有的人害怕压力&&& 2.有的人认为压力并不是一件坏事&&& 3.我的看法&&& 范文:& “I can't stand the pressure and competition,” explained one friend of mine when asked why he decided to quit his highly-paid but demanding position in his company recently. My friend may have his own reasons, but I don't think his decision is wise in reality.
It's true that my friend's case is not unique. In the last few years quite a number of men and women have chosen to do something less competitive at the cost of a comfortable, easy life a highly-paid job can obtain. They are afraid that the stresses and strains of work will rob them of joy and happiness and do them harm both physically and mentally. In fact, however, stress isn't the bad thing it is often supposed to be. Unless it gets out of control, a certain amount of stress is vital to provide motivation and challenge, and to give purpose and significance to an otherwise meaningless, idle life. People under stress tend to express their full range of potential and to actualize their own personal worth――the very aim of a human life.
Stress is a natural part of everyday life and there is no way to avoid it. What we can do is to develop our adaptive abilities to deal with it rather than to escape from it. 【】【】【】【】

My Ideal Job(1994.6) &&&(我理想的工作) &&&1. There are various kinds of jobs in the world, such as writing, nursing, teaching and engineering. Nevertheless, different people choose different jobs as their ideal careers. This happens mainly for the reason that everyone has his own interest. As for me, I have made up my mind to be a teacher chiefly for three reasons. First of all, I want to teach because I like the pace of the academic calendar. Two long vacations offer an opportunity for reflection, research and writing. Secondly, I want to teach because I like the freedom to make my own mistakes, to learn my own lessons, and to stimulate myself and my students. Moreover, I have the opportunity to keep on learning. Finally, I want to teach because, being around the students who are beginning to grow and change in front of me, I will find myself growing and changing with them. But teaching is no easy job at all. Therefore, I must study hard to acquire more knowledge. And, at the same time, I will make every effort to purify my soul so that I can become an architect of man’s soul.

The most institutions in America students may purchase meals in cafeterias, dining rooms, or snack bars that are either owned and operated by the institution or are concessions (出让) that are permitted to operate on the premises under a contractual(契约的) arrangement. Meals served in cafeterias or dining rooms that ate associated with college dormitories are prepared for the dormitory residents and must meet certain government nutritional (营养的) standards as well as satisfy local (state or municipal) sanitary (卫生) requirements. The menus are more or less varied, depending on the imagination and resourcefulness of the management, the taste or demands of the student residents, and many other factors. These dining factors are usually open only during specified meal hours each day.
In contrast to this, other campus eating establishments that charge “by the meal” may be open all day and may cater to the taste of a particular clientele (students, faculty and staff, guests of the institution, etc.). Both the cost of a meal and the choice of food served will vary according to the clientele. Shack (简陋的) bars and food vending machines (自动售货机) provide light meals or snacks throughout the day often remain open until late at night.
