What the developers have to say:
Why Early Access?
&We believe in the power of playtesting and the value of feedback. Creativerse will be a free-to-play game at launch. By charging for Early Access, we're hoping to ensure we get feedback from people who are passionate about shaping the game's destiny, invested in its future, and excited to get access to the game before it's released.&
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
&Long before we launched, we had estimated 4 - 6 months for Early Access. However, the realities of supporting a live game while developing new features and content quickly sunk in. We now feel 8 - 12 months is closer to what we'll need.&
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
&The core game is built on three essential components: exploration, combat, and crafting. On that foundation, we'll be adding a variety of new features, systems and content over the course of Early Access. We're excited to share these with you!&
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
&The game is fully playable with a decent amount of content, though it's certainly not bug-free. If you're experiencing an issue, your feedback will help us fix it!&
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
&Yes. We are committed to launching as a free to play game. We believe it will allow us to reach the widest audience possible. Continued development will be supported by microtransactions. However, we are making every effort to ensure that in-game purchases are not tied to the core loop of the game -- we don't want to penalize players who simply want to play for free.
As a bonus to our Early Access participants, you will receive a gift of in-game currency equal to the price of Early Access once the game officially launches!&
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
&We're hoping to get as much feedback as possible. Please let us know if you have any suggestions, whether it's something you'd like to see added or changed or removed entirely. We've already added a bunch of stuff and made a number of changes to the game based on player feedback and we plan to continue listening and responding throughout Early Access.
So...send us your feedback, please! Here are the best places to do that:

Recent updates
Hi Creatifriends,
This is it! This is the update you’ve all been waiting for. We’ve crammed as many new biomes, creatures and cool things as we could fit into this update. Then we threw in a few more for good measure. Rather than give you a wall of text summarizing everything, we’ll just make three points before diving into the patch notes...
1) We’re not joking -- this release is massive. Normally we prefer to pace things out more, but World v2 requires you create a new world to get the new content. We want to keep to an absolute minimum occasions where we ask players to restart. On that note, you can still access and play on your old worlds, though there are a few items you’ll no longer be able to craft.
2) As big as this update is, it doesn’t quite have everything we were hoping it would. For instance, the new mobs’ attacks aren’t up to snuff compared to the usual suspects. They will get better in future updates. And we’ll likely continue to refine some of the textures and other art elements.
3) In addition to World v2, there are several changes you’ll enjoy no matter what world you’re in. For example, real flames on torches, bloom lighting effects, bigger chests, performance improvements / network optimizations for better gameplay overall and a bunch of bugfixes.
Patch notes are below. If you don’t have a chance to play this very moment, get a taste for what’s new in this . If you do have time, slap a power cell on, grab some torches and get lost!

Hi Creatifriends,
Guess what? It’s R13 time! This update gives you the fancy new Drago blocks, which harness the beauty of the lava layer with striking grace.
There are also a bunch of improvements to our simulation system, which means performance will be much smoother when working with liquid or the corruption layer. And make sure to give TNT another chance to dazzle you as the sound, explosion and damage are now synced — just like in real life! We can’t wait to see the pics you guys post of entire continents blown to smithereens!
How’s it going with those new biomes, you ask? Swimmingly! But it’s taking us a bit longer than expected. We appreciate your patience as we work hard to get things just right. (We’ll share some footage from world v2 soon to give you a glimpse of what we have in store).
Here are the patch notes…

Analazing the playstyle:If you have played Minecraftt this game will feel almost exactly the same with more work put into the crafting and gathering aspects of the game.Gathering will all happen through 1 item and thats your glove. Depending on the battery you use in your glove you'll be able to harvest harder blocks and some specific resources will need a craftable extractor that is one time usable item that auto mines certain mineral nodes (like obsidian, coal and others). Crafting will be done through a set of crafting tables, you got your regular crafting table that puts the pieces together and then a few that will make usable items out of raw material. These all work with a Queue system so you can queue up about 15-18 items let the crafting bench take care of it for you while you got harvest more.Crafting works also like in &Don't Starve& in the sense that when you craft something you'll learn the next upgrade. For example: Wooden fences need to be created in order to learn the recipe for Stone ones. So the more you craft the more recipes you learn.Fighting Is almost exactly as minecraft but each zone (Forest, swamp, cave, ...) has it's own fauna. So not only Creepers, Spiders, Zombies and Skeletons. The area you start in has Boars (prime source of leather), Leafi's (cameleon like pushover) and baby and adult crabs (don't go after these with your twig weapon craft a wooden sword first). As you advance you'll spot more and more different monsters. Most of them are benign unless attack and of course nightime is dangerous as the mobs shift their color and become hostile.Graphics:If you know the Spahx Texturepack... it's an upgraded form of that in the way the game looks. Better but quite familiar. It must be said that there still is a little tearing here and there in the gameworld but not offputting in anyway usually at night a line here or there but I have full confidence that by the time it's released it'll be smoothed out.Audio:Very good audio, nothing extravagant but it's perfect for the gamestyle and everything you'll come across.Final Thoughts:People who really enjoy Minecraft with a lot of addons might miss some of thoose in this game but for the general Mincraft player this is a huge upgrade. Further more the Early Access pack is just as expensive as a copy of Minecraft so if you always wanted to try Minecraft I must say go with this the game expands with every update and is way better then basic Minecraft already. Again people who love an excess amount of Minecraft addons might wanna do some more research on the current state of the game before buying.

What is worse than a game with angry fan boi's? A game in alpha early access full of angry fan boi's... Seriously, this review will get 10-50+ &was not helpful& within a week of being published, all from these same fan boi's. Don't think that is true? Look down at the reviews, anything that said &would not recommend& for any reason have 0/10 found this helpful and every one that said &would recommend& (even if all the review said was, darrrr I went up in tree fell down died, darrrr would die again 11/10) has 10/10 found helpful. I would post names but 'Rules and Guidelines' would have my head- if you are really curious just look up some threads and you'll know... Edit:Don't bother commenting on review to let me know that
&you ??? need go die in whole yo!& because I will just delete it... Edit: I guess people don't even get this far in my review before posting comments about how stupid I am and how wor as I have said, don't bother I honestly delete them without even reading them. You don't like something downvote and move on. Ignoring this just proves you didn't even read this.far...You want an actual review and not some digital pleasure fest the fan boi's are giving free of charge? Here it is...What you want from early access:-A game that is somewhat playable-to be able to feel like you can constructively critique said game-to be able to feel comfortable enough to give feedback-to feel welcome and able to bring yourself to the table without selling yourself short-dev's that respect the critique as much as the praise and try to calm their fan boi's that are trying to impress downWhat you get here:-A game that is playable but full of pay to win/play/continue whatever you feel like calling it built into the gameplay and mechanics. Some pay to play features are turned off, but if something confuses you in game and you wonder &why is that?& ask yourself, &could they charge money to fix that problem?& and you'll have your answer... It's as easy as just 'turning it back on' when the time is right, and when you ask the dev's about it they are very clear that the store so saying they are not there currently in game is a half truth as they are just currently 'hiding it'.-A game that will be pay to win/play/continue at launch and is showing no signs of changing-Fan boi's that will attack and troll (aggressively) anyone who even brings up the pay to win's placed throughout the game, denying that they even are there-Fan boi's that will attack and troll (aggressively) anyone who even brings up Minecraft, Terraria, or any other similiar game for any reason other than to say they sucked-Fan boi's who will attack and troll (aggressively) anyone who even suggests that some (any) game mechanic is broken and needs to be fixed-By all accounts (according to fan boi's) a game that shouldn't be in Alpha, should be on shelves everywhere today as it is a complete product that God himself would play-A game that what you buy now in early access will most likely be what you get when game launches, any new content (such as stained glass and a slew of other building obects) will be for sale at the store... Yeah, if you want to build in this building for free game it will cost you... But it isn't pay to play! I swear!-Dev's that will respond to you within minutes of post if all you are doing is giving digital pleasure provided free of charge, and Dev's that will all but ignore any of the threads that have critique, mention Minecraft/Terraria, pay to play, etc, unless they are trying to fuel their army of fan boi's who attack like wolves, unrestrained or calmed by the devs...-If you get in now a lot of what they might be selling to others later you might get for free! But wait... It will cost you to get in now...Pros of this game:-If you are lonely and want to feel like part of a wolf pack and don't mind selling your soul to get it, there is a tight group here that wouldn't mind taking you in. You can feel warm and protected and important and VIP and better than all of those 'other people' who actually want the game to get better-If you have money and don't know what to do with all of it, this game will help you!-Breathtaking graphics for this style of game and just enough content to get you interested, frustrated, and then annoyed to the point where you wish there was something you could buy to fix your problem...-Currently called 'Minecraft on graphical steroids with less content but that's for sale'Cons of this game:-What you see is what you get, the hogwash being thrown around like 'your voice matters' and 'they actually change the game based on critique' is really not happening- fan boi's make sure of that and dev's let them. Sure, if you want to throw in an idea for a brick? Absolutely they want to hear that, they can sell it!-Huge two faced community, over the top fake friendly on the one hand and trained feral wolves on the other. If you think something is broken, keep it to yourself.-The entire point of being in an early access is broken because of above points, might as well wait for game to come out-Feels more like a Beta, in which the game is in the condition it will be at launch, and all they are doing is getting 'block ideas' from community (and other similiar objects) to sell in the future-Serious lack of content... If you are coming from Terraria, or even Minecraft, you will find yourself in an empty world. But it is early access, that will change! Maybe... But most of the dev's time is clearly spent trying to 'fine tune' their pay to play mechanics and bricks they plan on selling you and not on actual content.-There are a ton of great looking sandbox games coming up soon which are not going the FTP pay to play route, this is not an 'only option' kind of deal-Currently online only on th further putting up the red flags that you have a dev CO that wants all the $$$.Bottom line:Could this game be worth playing at launch? No doubt about it... But is there any reason for you to pay now just to give them ideas on what they can sell back to you in the future? Is the early access worth the money? No... Don't waste the time and/or the support, there are other indie companies that would die for your support and are actually trying to add real co not just pay to continue, or artificially inflating gameplay time, or riddle the game with 'slow downs!'. And if you think you can come in and change anyones mind, that you could save this game and help it become bigger and better than M think again, fan boi's will attack and insist the game is in perfect working condition. I beg you gaming community, don't support pay to play games and let these games change or die. Currently there is no control over the trolls in the community (on the thre as such myself and my friends have left the community worlds as well as unsub'd from all the threads) and the game has way too many stop blocks put into place to take money (currently it is centered at and around the 'obsidian level', where the best lights, extractors, ect are all made with obsidian) where everything degrades and you are forced to rebuild and search for new minerals to farm to build the same item again, anyone who is familiar at all with the pay to win/play games and has half a brain can see the writing all over the walls of this game. If the game direction changes and if the dev's get control of their own community (in game and out of game), but in its current state and direction of pay to play, the gaming community needs to step up and let these games die or watch as gaming as we know it dies.TL:DR= You want to know how the game plays and don't believe me go to

I wish there was a &blah& review.Creativerse is one of many Minecraft &next generation& games, hoping to cash in on that $2B trend. It's a good game. It's visually more attractive than MC, but then, aren't they all? There are some interesting novel new ideas, in the arena of mineral extraction. The character avatars are currently limited to two congenital twin white people with the same armor/clothing. Here's to hoping they introduce more diversity of races, both real and fantasy. You could spend a lot of time in this game, like Minecraft, just wandering around. They have plugged in more mobs, and the crafting system is more streamlined. One of their selling points in their own copy was &No more googling for craft recipes!& Ok, that's cool and everything, but not exactly original. What needs to happen is for the developers to COMPLETELY disavow themselves of the pay for content model. They need to make an original game that works, right now, that people will flock to, or else it's just another bloated dead beta corpse in the water. When they said they wanted to charge for content and upgrades and rushed completion of contruction (they were/are going to use a pay-to-hurry-completion model similar to every exploitative MMORPG ever), that really pushed them into the margins. It was a major PR messup.I know I'm probably not the first to suggest:NPCs that are actually interesting and contribute to the environment in an original way. Vendors are the first thing people make in sandboxes. Okay, what could be more interesting? NPCs that give you missions. Okay, that's great. That would improve the game. What else? NPCs
that form relationships with the characters, that can tell stories. The mobs are more interesting in Creativerse than in Minecraft. They have &special moves& which seems to promise a lot of potential. Unfortunately, they're a little stupid, although seemingly more dangerous than in Minecraft. Create features that are interesting to explore and interact with, not just showcases of a new graphical innovation or mob. Minecraft is minecraft. You can't compete with minecraft by being Minecraft. At this current stage, I see no major innovation in this game. No story, no new angle. Fun and playable, but nothing I'd buy again if given the chance.

I've had this game for a couple of months. I've held off on reviewing itsince I figured I might get the hang of it or it
might get better.I haven't and it hasn't. Only good thing about the game is the graphics. It looks good . They just did some update and now the few crafting stationstuff I had is gone. I've looked and looked but cannot get anything to upgradeso I can gather stone. Without stone there is no point in bothering with this game.Nobody should pay anything more than 1 or 2 dollars for this and even thenthere's better similar games on Ipad and Android for 1 or 2 dollars.I like to be considerate and constructive but this game isn't a game.It has nothing to to bring to the table and considerably less than most games of this ilk.Sorry guys, but make it creative
without searching for the lost city of gold and addintelligent npcs or this isn't going to cut it.

I really can't say what i should think about the game yet.... seems like minecraft in pretty graphics... with less possibilitys.... unique? naaah.... ingame shop .... oh come on guys! the game is 20 euro in alpha and even if its free to play after release, we all paid to explore and test everything in the game and a ingame shop while testing a game makes it not trustable to me.... that is very rude! and i don't see what it makes it really diffrent from other block crafting games...
at the moment i would say i cannot recommend it... sorry!!!

I'm sorry that I have bought this game as it sucks wihin the server connection screen.
I have tried every possible solutions but none of them can fix the problem.
I have played many games via steam and those required network connection / authorization but none of them have such problem.
I have wait over a month for their update and hope that it can fix the problem but IT'S STILL SUCK WITHIN THE SAME SCREEN.
I buy this game just because it clearly declared that it contain a single-player mode... WHAT'S THE POINT I HAVE TO CONNECT TO THE SERVER WHILE I SIMPLY WANT TO PLAY IN SINGLE-PLAYER MODE!?!?!?!?

For the 6 hours I played, non-stop mind you, I have to give this game a lot of credit. A friend bought this for me after telling me about it and I was a bit iffy on the idea of another sandbox game similar to Minecraft. But, there is a lot of differnces between the two games. The structure of the game itself gives a whole new feel if you are use to playing Minecraft. It's not as easy as chop some wood, mine some stone, then you're good to go. There is a lot of depth to just the crafting alone. While it is still fairly easy to find all the resources you need, you need a lot of them. Even after you collect them, you might need to use some tools to break it down into a different matterial. (For example, breaking vines down into twine.) Yes, you have wait times on crafting stuff. While it isn't too terribly bad, the times do get a bit longer as you start using more advanced materials such as Obsidian, Iron, and Diamonds. But in my opinion, it adds more to the game because now you have to wait 5 minutes to advance and in that time, you could go out and collect more resources or even go spelunking. The creatures in the game is definitely unique. While some do remind me of creatures from Jak and Daxter (the night Pigsy's and night Leafi's), they still have a unique vibe to them. And they of course vary in difficulty. While a few of them have unique skills such as blinding you for a short time or spinning to do a lot of damage, there isn't a lot to worry about as long as you keep some distance. Also, there is furniture. And to be honest, it actually looks pretty nice. There is also a lot of ways to customize and build your own house and make it stand out from your friends. You have different types of carpet, walls, and even slanted roof planks you can craft. You even have different colored lamps. You could use them like my friend does and make each room different colors. Though the blue sometimes confuses me because I never know if it is dark out or not. But it still looks really nice. Much like a room with a bunch of black lights. To add on to the crafting idea to the game, you do not start off with being able to craft everything in the game. You have to work your way up and find the recipes. While some of them are scattered in chests around the world, you usually unlock new ones after you craft something else. Like weapons for instance. After you craft a wood sword, you unlock the crafting recipe for a stone sword. Which means you have to work to find better things, meaning you actually have a goal to work towards. While there is still some bugs in the game with it being early access, it still runs fairly smooth and it's easy to play with friends. No port forwarding or setting up custom servers. Simply create a world and set a password so your friends can join up. Even when you are offline, they can still join the world and continue which to me, is pretty awesome. I would gladly recommend this game to anyone who likes Minecraft or sandbox games in general. And I think if you actually take some time with this game, you'll find there is a lot of possibilites with it.

Dear Consumers, Avid Gamers, and Concerned Passerby's
It makes me sad to read all the negitive reviews on this game, it almost kept me from getting it to be honest. After playing this game for 11 hours straight I can honestly say that although aesthetically similiar to minecraft, with alot of the same gameplay elements as minecraft. It is not minecraft at all. In the time up untill writing this review I have made a multilevel portal system using the built in nameable portals, created a chest based item sorting system using the nameable chests, created a medieval thatched cottage with a sloped roof(screw you minecraft stairs) and went to the depths of hell in search of precious metals while avoiding evil pigs, anglerfish, and other pokemon-esque monsters. True it is like minecraft in some ways but that is what makes this game truely awesome. It takes elements from a good game and goes a step up and kind of to the side. Minecraft was not the first of its kind, it helped make the genre popular sure, but this could be the next step in the evolution. Some points to note:
-Being in early access means things can change-Your paying for early access, a chance to play it before it goes free to play for everyone-It has few bugs, but being in alpha it has to be expected-It has great Mechanics so far-A butt load of content(11 hours in and still so much I havent seen)-Runs so smooth, over 60 fps on the highest settings-memorable gameplay-Fun respawn mechanic (via a telepad that you can relocate any number of times)-TELEPADS! You can teleport to your friends, they can teleport to you and it doesnt ever feel like your cheating.Cons: (Not included things that go along with any alpha)-No mounts yet (have already been hinted at though)-Besides combat, few survival elements, e.i. no hunger or thirst system-Slight learning curve(Although very satisfying when you do figure things out)-lack of explosion noises(Tnt makes tiny boom)Otherwise I personally love this game as it stands now. I also give it 10/10 Edit: Now with many more hours under my belt I am happy to report that this game is very little like minecraft. I ran into what I would equate to the Nether in minecraft, I found that I could dig deeper still. Let me tell you, there are places and things down in the depths minecraft would ha) still loving it 10/10 If you guys have positive or negitive experiences you want to share to add to this review I really want to hear them.

As of this moment I see the potential to be the evolution of minecraft. I mean this game could be fun and fantastic co op. They had to be greedy and ruin it with a cash shop though. You literally have to wait on extractors and things to mine and build 5 minutes and up. You can of course rush things with their in game mojo points. When you run out though, despite paying 20 bucks for the game. It's either pay to mine or wait forever. Oh well, was fun while the stuff lasted onward to better games.

The game that makes you wait longer then you can take a dump. Pay or wait forever. Pay to have the best items. Purchased recipes can't be earned in game. It's your classic Free to Play get rich now regardless of how badly it messes with the game. It could have been bigger then minecraft. Save your money and time unless waiting 5+ minutes for each ore to be harvested. The best extractor can only be bought. So theres your pay for best items. Currently (going to be removed and reworked) they have a pay now to speed up crafting. I'm probly half way through the games ladder of ores. Crafting is insanely long. It's like 3 hours in-between mining runs spent on crafting. People have over 50 crafting machines because this games design is so flawed trying to get around it. Like I said it's changing but I mention it to demonstrate the character of the these devs. They thought lets make crafting take hours and stick a pay now button next to it.We have a best item only available through purchase.wait time attached to everything from crafting to mining. Pay for quicker noraml paced gameplay. (extractor and the pay now)Online only cloud saves. Game no longer supported its over.

Game looks pretty, plays smooth. Thats about as far as they got with it.Interface is half-built. Can't even see the keybinds in-game, and the keybind menu out of game is utterly irrelivent and makes absolutely no sense. No control for the field of view, which is supidly narrow considering how close the mobs are to you when attacking you. Can't group with friends, or disable friendly fire. The night time mobs are insanely overpowered. Killing the player in 3 hits.Game is not ready to be played or even tested. They actually have to build some mechanics. They don't even have a female body model.I got the impression the devs came up with the idea &What if we made minecraft with smooth gameplay and graphics?& So they made the core mechanics and it worked. Then they lost interest. This is just another Minecraft wannabe vaporware project.Move along.

I really like the game, I love the graphics and the sound etc. The problem is that the game is full of bugs and may be not worth the money for the moment, I would rather wait until they release the game, when it will be Free To Play. If you wanna help them developin' the game, then I recommend you to buy it.

Update 2 -- The devs have added a lot to the game since launch, but their approach to the payment system in the game and how they are handling it is what is going to kill it, or stop people from playing. They refuse to remove the microtransaction structure etc. You are 100x better off playing ANY other voxel based game that doesn't ask for microtransactions for the whole reason they exist (creativity) The game its self is fine in playability, you can get a lot out of it, but expect paywalls when you want to build a base as cool as your friend has. I had high hopes for this game, nevermind 2/10

This might be the WORST optimized game ever, I mean SERIOUSLY!? I have a 2Gb graphic card, and 3.30 GHz Processor and it still lags like sh@t on lowest graphic. I did not buy this game (one of my friends irl gifted it to me), and I really feel sorry for that guy. This game is NOT worth wasting 20 Bucks/Euro on. Also, when I started to play this game there was no tutorial, NOR a guide to show how to start so the only thing I could do, so I was jerking around having absolutely NO idea what to do. I know this is an &Early Access& game, but I think the price is too high.

It was almost like an accident. I didn't want to buy it at the first. But for some reason it felt very interesting to me, so i was like &screw it, lets give it a try&.The game man ... Its hard to explain feelings when playing this game. It doesnt really matter what ill write or what anybody will read about this game. If that person is familiar with a minecraft, he will think that this is nothing more than a bad clone for the most parts. I played minecraft. And i mean i played a lot of modded versions of mc, because playing vanilla is like playing 1/4 of minecraft. And ye its amazing game but after some time it felt like it needs something new. Like mc 2.0? I dont know what exactly i would like. It just feels so old.Creativerse looks similar to mc but what exactly do you expect from building voxel sandbox game? Dont be crazy.I didnt expect much when i started to play this game. And i had &mc clone& in my mind too. But from the very start i just didnt believe what i feel. Everything felt so fresh. I dont want to say &new& but &more enjoyable to me& seems like better explanation. Also i didnt get mc in my mind a single time. And for early access its already so well done. I simple love it and thats it. This game still needs a LOT of content to be made but the game is still in development and what is important, everything it already has, works so well and is fun to play with friends. The closest comparison for me would be - this is similar like LoL to Dota.Ye, its clone. But you still cant just say that those games are the same. Playing both feel different. And both are fun. That is how i see it. Not a single care given about any hard-core mc fanboys. Play your game you like. Leave a game that others like. I almost didnt even buy it because of them. I am lucky that i did. That is all i wanted to say and share with others. I wish good luck for developers to make this game awesome. Now i have to go back to my fort.
My new friend Pigsy is waiting for me. =P

I think I'm addicted. I've played this game for several hours and have found that I totally enjoy it!What do I like about the game:- Graphics are amazing- Familiarity from playing Minecraft for so many years- Crafting system is pretty cool- Creatures are awesome and cute too- Its simplicity (once you figure out how to play)What I don't like about the game (which I'm sure will be fixed eventually):- Getting started was a bit of a pain to figure out- Crouching was a bit confusing at first, but I ended up liking it- Not much else reallyI would recommend this game if you love open world/survival/build type games. Will this replace Minecraft for me? Yes.

Lots of fun so far. Remnids me of playing *cough toher game* for the first time, but with better graphics and more to do. Like how each item tells you what it is for, and the crafting table show what you can build.

This game is just so amazing and fun.
Everytime I set out to do something I never get to it as I am always distracted by the beauty and so much to do. This game runs smoothe and just is great for a alpha.
