Hair like Fiona's must drive them crazy." She works as a Caretaker for the Old. Despite her kind demeanor, she is adept at Releasing the elderly without emotion. She is referred to as Jonas's 'favorite female' as a result of his sexual emotions for her. Gabriel – an infant from the Nurturing Center whom Jonas's father takes home for extra care. Slow in development and highly emotional, Gabriel is at risk of Release. Jonas takes him on his journey to Elsewhere. Gabriel is able to Receive memories from Jonas. He is also one of the only people other than Jonas and a female Six to have pale eyes. Rosemary – the Elders' previous selection to be the new Receiver of Memory, when Jonas was a Two. Her training failed, in a way which impacted the entire Community: defeated by the memories of loss and hurt which the Giver was forced to transfer, she asked for Release. Once she was released, the memories given her had no place to go, so they floated freely. The Giver reveals that Rosemary was his daughter, though some readers believe the Giver uses the term "daughter" metaphorically. Caleb – A child who drowned in the river near the town. Because of release, "natural" or accidental death is not known, so this shocks the community. They chant his name all day in a "Ceremony of Loss" until it fades from their memories.

& The giver
& Feel the feeling in your life. This is the
frist of my impression when I finish my book ――&The
Giver&. This book tell me something which we always
have it but always neglect it and think its granted. The Giver
also made me think, thnik about what is the true life, and what is
the real society. In this story, the main character, little Jonas
who is only 12 years old, will be a Giver in his world. His world
is a perfect place for writer. A world is no fight, neednt worry
what kind of tomorrow will be, even they never worry about death,
ill and somethink unknow. When Im reading, I have a feeling, its
jealousy, and unfair. Why they can live that happy? But I was
wrong, the truth is its not a world, not a life, they even not to
be a human being, they cant be their self. They cant hear music,
cant see color. And all those thing need to be accepted. When I
finish The Giver, I feel some thing lose in the books world, they
lose choice, already jobs, already children, also the already
life. I think the only reason Jonas will run a way is this world is
no love, all people live in indifferent.I think the society in the
book its not the freedom world. They might need some change, like
Jonas, the main character.
& Storys start is about a harmonious society,
they assigning jobs to each person by a evaluation of their skill,
each family made by matching up husbands and wives by personality,
they can& balance each other, and only can have
two children, one girl and one boy. In the story, it is also tell
that there is a surveillance system that can monitors the entire
society. Bicycles is the Except some of cars
and airplanes for the main use of transporting food.
& But when time progresses in the story, this
societys cruel become clearly and clearly. The society has lost
the&ideas of family and love, and nature. Most of
animal was gone(or be killed). Here is no river and fish.
The story is arond
Release,&but what is Release? The people in the
story think Release is just change a city to live, and another city
is also a world like the world which they are living. Its not the
truth, actually Release is euthanasia. The rule of this society is
Wrong thing can be happen one or two times, everybody will forgive
you if you apologize, but if you get the third time same wrong, you
will be Release.. Here has two other reason to be Release,
frist&you are old man, second, if twin are born by
Birthmothers, the light one will be Release.
& Jonas will be the Giver, the Giver is the most important person in
the community. He can experience pain, love, and sees color, while
no one else can. The giver has a huge memory system in his mind, it
save the world before assimilation of all thing which have
happened. When something happen, the leader will ask Giver to find
the way to solve. But Giver must brought bear the pain of memory,
most of people cant bear it. Jonas do it, he find a new world form
the memory, and want to be the world in memory,want to change the
world he has,
The end of the
story&is unclearly and unknow, we even dont know
is the end good or bad. The cold temprature give Jonas and
Gabriels future dangerous. However, at the end
it& hints that he may have hear music which comes
from another way,& and that he and Gabriel might
can survived or find a real new world.
